Your First Appointment with Dr Kate

Any first-time visit to a medical specialist can be a little daunting. To help smooth out the process for you, here are some things to know.

How to prepare for your first appointment

To be able to claim for any Medicare rebates you may be eligible for, we will need a valid referral from your GP or other specialist. If this has not already been forwarded to us ahead of your visit, please ensure you bring it on the day.

We may send you some paperwork, such as medical history forms and consent forms, to fill out before you come in. Bring these with you to your appointment, along with any other relevant medical reports, previous test results, or records of previous IVF cycles. This will give Dr Kate a more comprehensive overview of your current situation.

On the day of your first appointment

Dr Kate aims to ensure all her patients feel as comfortable as possible under her care. We encourage you to ask as many questions as you need to feel fully informed and in control of your treatment.

At your first appointment, you will have an open discussion with Dr Kate about your medical history and your experience with trying to conceive so far. She will then order relevant blood tests and imaging scans if they have not already been done recently. Reviewing the results of these tests will guide Dr Kate’s recommendations for your next steps.

Payment for your consultation is required in full on the day of your appointment. Once a treatment plan has been designed for you, any additional costs and fees will be discussed with you prior to starting treatment.
